Our simulator has been developed to help train medical professionals and medical students to diagnose and monitor COVID-19 through lung ultrasound.

The project now…
We then continued our efforts to provide an accessible and versatile solution for global ultrasound learning. Thanks to diSplay Learning, you can now train for the fundamentals of Lungs Ultrasound, and the diagnosis protocol POCUS.

What’s next?
Our team is working to broaden the scope of our simulator, to offer an ever-expanding training offer to meet the needs of as many people as possible. Therefore, you will soon be able to learn everything about the emergency protocol FAST.

About the diSplay U/S POCLUS curriculum

What are the different steps to master in order to perform a POCUS lung ultrasound examination? What are the critical points of the procedure, and how do you perform a successful examination using the standardized POCUS protocol?

Lung ultrasound

Exercice 1: Overview of Lung U/S assessment

  • Understand the relevance of Lung Ultrasound (LUS) in the context of COVID-19 pandemic
  • Understand the basics of the standard workflow and recognize the anatomical landmarks and LUS stations
  • Perform an entirely guided LUS assessment

Exercie 2: Lung U/S fundamentals

  • Navigate through 14 stations without guidance
  • Understand approaching gestures and fine-tune maneuvers of the ultrasound image
  • Integrate duration fundamentals of the assessment

Exercice 3: Free Assessment

  • Locate and navigate through the 14 stations by finding anatomical landmarks without guidance
  • Setup the ultrasound system and access the stations for 10 seconds/each
  • Execute the procedure with a clean technique

Exercice 4: Image analysis

  • Understand the fundamentals and technical aspects related to COVID-19 abnormal LUS findings
  • Recognize abnormal finding and classify them by severity
  • Identify normal A-lines, B-lines, consolidations, white lungs, pleural effusions, and associate scoring-related concepts to them
