Founder & COO of TeebPedia
InSimo and TeebPedia have been partners since 2024, when they launched their collaboration with a conference introducing the diSplay U/S simulator in Algeria. Since then, the two organizations have worked together through a series of events and workshops with ultrasound experts, supporting both undergraduate and continuing medical education.

The partnership with InSimo gains new momentum in 2026 with the deployment of diSplay U/S in Algeria , supported by TeebPedia.
It further strengthens the ties between our two organizations and reflects a shared vision: making medical education safer, more accessible, and increasingly realistic.

Could you introduce yourself and tell us about the creation of TeebPedia?

Soumeya : I am Belhimer Soumeya, a medical doctor and a third-year resident in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine in Algeria. TeebPedia is an Algerian start-up certified by the National Labelling Commission, with the mission of becoming a leading national player in information, software, and services dedicated to the training of healthcare professionals.
The story of TeebPedia as a start-up began with a collaborative initiative. Initially, we mainly organized training activities, such as revision sessions. During the COVID-19 crisis in 2020, these sessions gradually moved online through video conferences, due to the health situation and the lack of suitable infrastructure for distance learning in Algeria.
We started with the resources available to us and gradually managed to bring together more than 145 university hospital physicians from across the country to take part in our training activities. These included professors and assistant professors, who dedicated their time and expertise to sharing their knowledge and training younger healthcare professionals.
This momentum also extended to our YouTube channel, which gradually became a dedicated platform for sharing medical content. Today, it has more than 60,000 subscribers and over 2 million cumulative views, reflecting the growing interest among healthcare professionals in accessible, high-quality educational content.
From 2022 onwards, we sought to further structure and professionalize our approach after obtaining the start-up label, awarded by the National Labelling Commission in December 2021. Today, we are developing our activities around medical education, with the ambition of integrating a technological dimension, both through the educational formats we offer and through simulation tools.

What do you see as the main strengths of diSplay U/S, and how does it meet the needs of the Algerian market?

Soumeya : What I particularly appreciate is the accessibility of the simulator. I don’t know how things work elsewhere, but here in Algeria, access to simulation is still relatively limited. We do have a simulation center at the university, but access is restricted to certain students, particularly those in their sixth year, as part of their curriculum.
Outside of that, it is difficult to access simulation. In addition, simulation often requires a significant amount of equipment and physical resources. This is not the case with diSplay U/S. The software is fully digital and accessible online.
Moreover, ultrasound has become a very useful tool for healthcare professionals. For a long time, it was mainly used by radiologists, but today, an increasing number of specialties are incorporating ultrasound into their practice. As an intensive care physician, for example, we are increasingly performing lung ultrasounds, FAST examinations, and cranial ultrasounds. In my specialty, it is a very useful and even essential tool. And we are not the only ones: nephrologists are also increasingly using ultrasound.
“diSplay U/S, is a fully digital software solution that is accessible online. For my specialty, it is a very useful and even essential tool.”

What are the main challenges of ultrasound training in Algeria?

“Today, more and more specialties are incorporating ultrasound into their daily practice.”

Soumeya : Ultrasound is becoming increasingly widespread. In the past, it was mainly performed by radiologists, with the exception of cardiac ultrasound, which was primarily carried out by cardiologists. Today, more and more medical specialties are incorporating ultrasound into their daily practice, each focusing on the organs relevant to their field: pulmonologists, nephrologists, urologists and pediatricians.
This is particularly true of intensive care physicians and emergency physicians, who use ultrasound in emergency situations, such as FAST and E-FAST examinations.

What are the prospects for the deployment of diSplay U/S in Algeria?

Soumeya : The goal is to be part of this evolution and contribute to making ultrasound education more accessible. Today, many organizations offer intensive two- or three-day training courses. However, these are often still largely theoretical. And even when practical training is included, the number of cases covered remains limited, with very few, if any, pathological cases. With diSplay U/S, we of course provide guided learning to support users throughout their training, but above all, access to a wide range of clinical cases. This is essential, as it allows learners to encounter the most common pathologies, depending on the organs being examined and the different modules available.
“With diSplay U/S, there is of course a guided learning component to support the learning process, but above all, access to a wide range of clinical cases.“

What is your vision for the future of medical education in Algeria?

Soumeya : I find that what we have developed around distance learning has been very well received, both at in-person events and through online training programs. The arrival of technologies such as diSplay U/S, combined with this type of partnership, is helping to transform medical education and pave the way for new learning tools.
Today, it is no longer enough to rely solely on scientific articles or theoretical and academic teaching. It is also essential to develop practical skills and encourage multidisciplinary exchange. With diSplay U/S, we also want to contribute our medical expertise to the development of new educational content. The goal is to build this approach together, combining medical expertise with the possibilities offered by technology.
